Day 3 Read: 1 John 2:4-6
4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
Reflect: What is the connection between stating “I know Jesus” and a person’s actions? What will be the result?
Consider: When one is born of God, he has been begotten into an intimate relationship with each member of the Godhead—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and it is the keeping of the commandments that bears witness to this union.
Respond: Why is it personally meaningful to know that Jesus is not just your Savior but your Advocate? How does knowing that Jesus is your Advocate change the way you live on a day-to-day basis?
