Day 5--Read: 2 Timothy 2:7
Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.
Reflect: What practical thing does Paul’s instruct Timothy to do in this verse?
Consider: Consider what I say. The apostle’s lessons had been given in parables or similitudes. He therefore begs Timothy to note them well, lest the application to himself should escape him, suggesting further that he should seek the necessary wisdom and understanding from God. 5
Respond: Clearly Paul is instructing Timothy to have more than a daily quiet time. He is challenging Timothy to study the scriptures, meditate on them and consider how to apply them to his life. What adjustments need to be made to your routine to allow for meaningful consideration of God’s word to you through the scriptures and how He speaks to you through prayer?
