Day 5 Read: Colossians 3:12-14; Acts 8:23
12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
23 For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.”
Reflect: What is the result of putting on the qualities Paul lists in the letter to the Colossians?
Consider: σύνδεσμος means the “middle thing” (τὸ μέσον) by which two or more things are joined together. It is thus the “link,” “joint,” “means of binding”5
Respond: What are you doing to ensure unity in the body of Christ? What attitudes or actions might be detrimental to unity?
