Senior Pastor - Dr.
Rodney McGlothlin began his
pastorate of First Baptist February, 2002. He grew up in Pasadena,
Texas and attended the University of Houston and Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary. He served churches in Oklahoma and Texas before coming to College Station. Dr.
McGlothlin is a gifted and creative communicator. He incorporates humor as well
as real life experiences in his messages to effectively share the Good News with
his listeners. Rodney is married to Debbie and has two sons; Andy and Todd.
He enjoys playing classical guitar and the trumpet, golfing, camping in the

Education Minister -
Dr. David Strawn
began his ministry at First Baptist in May, 1995.
David is responsible for all the educational ministries of the church
including a fully graded Sunday School, regular Christian discipleship
growth classes, and special training for members and leaders. He also serves
as financial administrator. His is a spiritually gifted and passionate
teacher. David grew up in San Antonio and has served churches and
associations in Texas and Arkansas. He met and married his wife Kathy while
they were students at Howard Payne. They have two grown children, Kayla and
Stephen, and three
granddaughters, Katy, Kourtney, and Samantha. You may

Music Minister - Bill Killion
began his ministry at First Baptist in August 1996.
Bill is a graduate of East Central Oklahoma State University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served
churches in Texas and Oklahoma before coming to College Station. Bill is married to Janet and has a son named Brent.
He enjoys his two Pugs, flying model airplanes, bicycling, and is quite the
movie enthusist. You may

Youth Minister - Lance
Mayes began his ministry with First
Baptist in October 2000. He was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Lance
accepted Christ at Vacation bible School at age 10 and surrendered to
vocational ministry as a freshman at college. He
is a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Lance served two
other churches in West Texas before coming to First
Baptist. Lance is married to Jennie and has a son named Nicholas and a daughter
Leah. Lance enjoys
spending time with his family, reading, and a large variety of outdoor

Bronwyn
Stanley began her ministry at First
Baptist in February 1998. She is a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary. She served in Beaumont, TX before joining the staff of First Baptist. You may

College Minister -
Ty Cope began his ministry at First Baptist in January 2003.
He was born in Vietnam, came to America in 1975, adopted
by the Cope family of Frederick, Oklahoma, accepted Christ at the age of
nine, and surrendered to vocational ministry at youth camp. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State
University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served
churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and Virginia before coming to First. Ty is married
to Kayla and has two daughters; Joy Malori and Jill Madelyn. Ty enjoys
playing volleyball, off-roading, watching action movies with his wife, and
NASCAR. You may

Pastor Emeritus

Dr. Malcolm Bane retired as pastor in December 2000 after serving
First Baptist since August 1969. He led the church through a variety of new
experiences including the move from the Northgate location to the corner of
Welsh and 2818 in 1986. In retirement he expects to continue to be active
teaching and preaching in churches in the area.
