Day 3 Read: Romans 11:25-27
Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
27 “and this will be my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”
Reflect: How can God’s grace lead to conceit and arrogance? How can spiritual conceit lead to a misinformed perspective?
Consider: Romans 11:25 is one of several “until verses” in the Bible, all of which are important. Read Matthew 23:32–39; Luke 21:24; and Psalm 110:1 for other references. It is reassuring that God knows what time it is and that He is never late in fulfilling His will.3
Respond: How does spiritual conceit get in the way of God’s redemptive plan? How can it keep believers from fulfilling their God-given mission of sharing Christ with all? What was the significance of Paul sharing with Gentile believers about the future of Israel?
